Education remains one of the most powerful tools for breaking the cycle of poverty and creating opportunity.
Supporting education means funding the practical things that keep a child in school and a young person learning — the costs that decide, term by term, whether a family can keep a child enrolled.
What actually keeps a child out of school
Very few children leave school because their families stopped valuing education. They leave because of cost, and the cost is rarely only the fees. Uniforms, books, examination charges, transport and a midday meal add up to a sum a household under pressure cannot produce every term.
When money runs short the decision is made child by child. A family keeps one in school and withdraws another. A child withdrawn for a single term frequently never returns.
That is what education support is for: closing a gap small enough to be closed, before it becomes permanent.
What your support funds
Directing your gift
Education support can be directed to a specific school, community or programme. If you would like your gift used in a particular place, tell us and we will make sure it is, and report back on what it funded.

Beyond the classroom
Education does not stop at school age. The Achebe Africa Digital Academy exists because a qualification that leads nowhere is a cost rather than an asset, and Skills Development covers the vocational trades for people whose route to a livelihood is not academic.

How your gift is handled
Every donation is recorded and acknowledged. The Foundation reports on how funds are used through annual reports, impact reports and financial summaries, in line with our published Financial Accountability Policy and Donation Policy.
The Foundation does not store card details. Where an online payment provider is used, payment is processed securely by that provider.
