AADA Scholarships

Talent Should Not Be Priced Out of Opportunity.

Across Africa, there are ambitious people ready to learn, build and create — but for some, the first barrier is simply access. A course fee. Reliable internet. Access to the right technology. Sometimes even knowing that an opportunity exists.

AADA Scholarships help reduce those barriers by expanding access to practical digital, AI and entrepreneurship education for eligible learners who may otherwise be unable to participate.

Because at Achebe Africa Digital Academy, we believe something deeply:

Talent is universal. Opportunity is not.

A scholarship helps bring the two closer together.

Why AADA Scholarships Exist

Ability and ambition are not determined by someone's bank balance.

There may be a brilliant future entrepreneur who cannot currently afford a course. A graduate ready to build a new skill but without an income. A single parent looking for a more flexible way to earn. A young creator with extraordinary ideas but limited access to professional training. A job seeker who needs new capabilities to change direction. A small business owner who could transform their business by understanding AI, digital marketing or e-commerce.

The potential may already be there. The access may not be.

AADA Scholarships exist to help ensure financial circumstances do not automatically exclude capable, committed people from the digital opportunities emerging around them.

More Than Funding a Course

A scholarship should open access to a pathway.

Depending on the scholarship programme and available funding, support may include full or partial course access, practical learning, relevant learning communities through Achebe Campus, mentorship opportunities and wider AADA support. Where specific funding and partnerships make it possible, additional barriers such as connectivity, technology or access to appropriate learning resources may also be considered.

But the bigger idea is simple: we do not want scholarship recipients merely to receive free access to information. We want them to use that access to build capability.

From Access to Capability

The opportunity is funded. The learner still has to build.

Receiving an AADA Scholarship does not lower the expectations of the Academy. Scholarship learners are ACHEVIANS. They are expected to learn, participate, practise, execute, complete practical work and make meaningful use of the opportunity they have received.

The purpose of a scholarship is not simply "someone received a free course." The bigger question is:

"What did that person become capable of doing because someone opened the door?"

That is the impact we want to create.

Who Are AADA Scholarships For?

Scholarship opportunities may prioritise people for whom financial circumstances represent a significant barrier to participation, alongside evidence of commitment and readiness to learn.

Depending on the scholarship round or funding partner, opportunities may support young people, students, graduates, job seekers, women, single parents, aspiring entrepreneurs, creators, people from underserved communities and others seeking pathways into the digital economy. Some scholarship programmes may also be created specifically for a particular community, demographic, location, course or economic opportunity — so selection criteria will depend on the scholarship being offered.

We are not looking only for people who already have advantages. We are looking for potential worth investing in.

How AADA Scholarships Work

Different partners can open different doors.

Scholarships may be made possible through Achebe Hope Foundation sponsorship, individual donors, corporate scholarship programmes, technology and industry partners, philanthropic and development organisations, sponsored community cohorts and special AADA initiatives.

Some scholarships may cover a full learning place. Others may provide partial support. Some partners may choose to fund an entire cohort of ACHEVIANS around a particular skill, community or opportunity.

Each scholarship opportunity should clearly explain what is funded, who is eligible and how applications are assessed.

Applying for an AADA Scholarship

We are looking for commitment, not perfection.

Scholarship places depend on available funding and may open in specific application rounds. Where applications are required, applicants may be asked about their circumstances, goals, chosen learning pathway and how they intend to use the opportunity.

We want to understand not simply "why can't you pay?" but also:

"What are you prepared to do with the opportunity if someone invests in you?"

Financial need may open consideration for a scholarship. Commitment should help determine what happens next.

Sponsor an ACHEVIAN

Don't just fund education. Fund what someone could build because of it.

For an individual donor, funding a scholarship can give someone access to skills they may otherwise have been unable to develop.

For a company, the opportunity can be even bigger. A corporate partner could sponsor 10 young people learning AI, 25 women building digital businesses, 50 graduates developing employable digital skills, 100 creators developing capabilities for the creator economy, an entire community learning digital entrepreneurship — or a specialist cohort built around an industry or economic opportunity.

This transforms scholarship funding from a donation into a targeted human-capital investment.

Corporate & Named Scholarships

Put your organisation behind African potential.

AADA can work with suitable partners to explore named scholarship cohorts and targeted learning initiatives aligned with shared objectives — for example, The [Partner] Women in AI Scholarship, The [Partner] Digital Entrepreneurship Cohort, The [Partner] Future Creators Programme, The [Partner] Graduate Digital Skills Scholarship, or The [Partner] AI for Small Business Programme.

Partners may support funding while also contributing technology, mentors, masterclasses, industry challenges, internships, professional exposure or employment pathways.

The strongest scholarship may provide more than access to education. It can connect education to opportunity.

From Scholarship to Opportunity

We want to understand what happens after access is given.

As AADA's scholarship programme grows, our ambition is to look beyond the number of funded places. We want to understand whether scholarship recipients are completing their learning, developing practical capabilities, building portfolios and projects, creating digital products, pursuing employment or freelance opportunities, starting or strengthening businesses, using AI and digital tools productively — and ultimately moving forward because an opportunity became accessible.

That is how scholarship becomes impact.

The Ripple Effect

When you invest in one person, the impact may travel further than one person.

A scholarship recipient may use a new skill to secure work. Support their family. Build a business. Create employment. Teach someone else. Solve a problem in their community. Or become the mentor who returns to AADA years later and helps another ACHEVIAN begin.

That is the bigger possibility behind every scholarship.

You are not simply funding someone's access to a course. You are investing in what they may become capable of building because they had access to it.

A future digital entrepreneur. A creator. An AI professional. A freelancer. A business builder. A problem solver. Someone whose circumstances today may tell you very little about what they could become tomorrow.

Fund the opportunity. Let them build what comes next.

Open a Door

Somewhere, there is potential waiting for access.
