Donation Policy

1. Purpose

Achebe Hope Foundation depends on the generosity of individuals, organizations, businesses, and partners to carry out its mission of restoring hope, empowering communities, and creating sustainable opportunities across Africa.

This Donation Policy explains how donations are received, managed, acknowledged, and used to support the Foundation’s charitable programmes and operations.

2. Types of Donations We Accept

We welcome a variety of contributions, including:

• Monetary donations.
• Corporate sponsorships.
• Monthly and recurring donations.
• In-kind donations such as food, clothing, educational materials, medical supplies, equipment, and other essential items.
• Grants from foundations and development organizations.
• Legacy and planned giving.
• Fundraising proceeds from individuals, schools, churches, and organizations.

All donations are subject to the Foundation’s review and acceptance.

3. Use of Donations

Every donation is carefully managed to maximize impact.

Donations may be used to support:

• Community development programmes.
• Education initiatives.
• Achebe Africa Digital Academy (AADA).
• Women and youth empowerment.
• Maternal and child healthcare.
• Humanitarian relief.
• Skills development programmes.
• Orphanage support.
• Organisational operations that enable programme delivery.

Where a donation is designated for a specific project, the Foundation will make every reasonable effort to apply it to that purpose.

4. Transparency & Accountability

Achebe Hope Foundation is committed to responsible stewardship of every contribution received.

We maintain appropriate financial controls, keep accurate financial records, and provide periodic reports to demonstrate how funds are used in advancing our mission. Our approach is set out in full in our Financial Accountability Policy.

5. Donation Receipts & Acknowledgements

Official acknowledgements or receipts will be issued for eligible donations.

Where appropriate, donors may also receive updates on the programmes or projects their contributions have supported.

6. Refund Policy

As a nonprofit organization, donations are generally considered final and non-refundable.

However, if a donation was made in error or duplicated due to a payment processing issue, donors should contact the Foundation promptly. Refund requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

7. Donor Privacy

Achebe Hope Foundation respects the privacy of every donor.

Personal information collected during the donation process will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and will never be sold or shared for marketing purposes without consent.

8. Restricted & Unrestricted Donations

Donors may choose to:

• Make a restricted donation, which is applied to a specific programme or project.
• Make an unrestricted donation, allowing the Foundation to allocate funds where they are most needed.

If a restricted project is completed or becomes impractical, the Foundation may, after appropriate consideration, redirect the funds to a similar initiative that aligns with its mission.

9. Changes to This Policy

Achebe Hope Foundation may update this Donation Policy from time to time to reflect changes in legal requirements, operational practices, or organizational needs.
