This page and Stories of Hope are close relatives, and the difference between them is worth stating plainly.
Stories of Hope publishes personal accounts: a person describing their own experience, at the time. Hope Success Stories looks back from further away — a year later, or three — and asks whether the change held.
What counts as a success story
A durable outcome, not a good day. Something that would still be true if the Foundation stopped visiting tomorrow:
- A child who stayed in school through to completion
- A young person in sustained paid work, or running their own business
- A single parent supporting their household independently
- A community facility still running, and still maintained locally
- A skills programme graduate now teaching others
Follow-up takes time
Nothing has been published on this page yet, for a straightforward reason: an outcome cannot be called durable until enough time has passed to know that it is. Establishing that means going back to people months or years later and asking. The Foundation is now building that follow-up into how programmes are recorded, so that the answers exist to be published.
Consent applies here too
As with every story the Foundation publishes, nothing appears here without the permission of the person it is about, and that permission can be withdrawn at any time. Where a story concerns a child, consent is sought from a parent, guardian or authorised caregiver under our Child Protection Policy.
Success stories from the Digital Academy are published separately, at AADA Success Stories.
