What Hardship Looks Like
Hunger does not always begin with an empty plate.
Often, it begins quietly. A family reduces what it buys. Meals become smaller. Variety disappears. Parents begin skipping meals so children can eat. Bills are delayed. Small savings disappear.
Then something happens — illness, loss of income, displacement, flooding, bereavement or another unexpected crisis — and a household that was just managing suddenly cannot.
Hardship can compound quickly. That is why humanitarian assistance matters.
